The Great Council Fire: MORANA's convergence finale

The Great Council Fire is the tenth and final world of MORANA's saga, the realm of the Americas and Africa where every world's story is at last shown to be one story, and every council-fire the same fire. Here the cracked wheel that broke in the Slavic first world is understood whole: the returning dead were never a local wound but the single truth all ten cultures were telling. It is the world where the saga comes home.

The world and its myth

This is the country of the trickster and the returning god: Quetzalcoatl, the feathered serpent whose own myth is a death and a prophesied return; Anansi, the spider who owns the stories; and the great tradition, across the Americas and Africa, of the council fire, the gathering where the people meet to speak, to judge, and to decide together. It is a tradition of convergence and of the shared word, the fire that many peoples circle at once.

Its place in the saga

The tenth world is the finale, where the phenomenon that opened in the Slavic lands and spread through eight cultures is revealed as one thing seen ten ways. Quetzalcoatl, the god who dies and is prophesied to return, becomes the face that says the whole saga was always this single story: the wheel that turns, the death that is a middle and not an end. Every river crossing, every market, every burial mound the worlds shared was always the same ground; every fire was always the same fire.

The signature: the Council Fire

The finale's signature idea is the only one where the players themselves, not just their cards, must act in the open together. As figures fall at a place, its council fills, and when it reaches its height both players cast one open, non-secret vote that permanently reshapes that ground for the rest of the game. It adds a second public layer while leaving the single hidden commit untouched, the mechanical form of ten worlds' council-fires becoming one, agreement and clash made into the game's last move.
