Hybris, the trials of Olympus, is the fourth world of MORANA's saga, the Greek realm of gods and fables where mortal pride draws down divine punishment, and where the same cracked wheel is met by a people who read it as the oldest of their lessons: reach too high, and the gods will roll for you. Its name is the Greek word for the pride that comes before the fall.
This is the country of Olympus and of Aesop: the gods who meddle and repay, the Fates who spin and cut the thread, Sisyphus and his stone, Icarus and his wax, Nemesis who balances every excess, and the animal fables whose morals are as sharp as any tragedy. Greek myth and the fables attributed to Aesop share one spine, the conviction that the cosmos keeps accounts, and that overreaching mortals are always, eventually, made to settle them.
By the fourth world, the Turning has reached the Aegean, and the Greeks meet the returning dead through their own frame: the dead who walk are a matter of the gods' bookkeeping, and pride is what invites the reckoning. Where the Slavic first world grieves the dead and the Grimm world fears the forest, this world stands trial before Olympus. It is the saga's tragic-pride chapter, the story of a people certain that the wheel turns because someone reached too far.
Hybris's signature idea is escalating, shared, public risk. Instead of a fixed clock, this world introduces a rising ladder of chance that grows more dangerous every time a figure falls, the gods' own die climbing from small to large as the tragedy mounts. It is calculable odds rather than hidden luck, a public wager that everyone can read and everyone must weigh, the arc of pride made into a rising-variance ladder.
Hybris is the fourth Turning in MORANA's mapped saga, designed but ahead of the live game. It is not a product you can buy today and it has no cards yet; it is part of the queued world-map, announced when real, never dated. The world you can play now is the first, the Slavic set, free in your browser.
